WE

ABOUT US:

The Canadian Catholic Prison Ministry Network (CCPMN) is a dedicated group of Catholic Chaplains, volunteers, and others within the Catholic community who endeavour to follow the teachings of Christ who called us to visit the prisoner.

OUR SCRIPTURAL PURPOSE

The CCPMN has adopted as our scriptural purpose, the following well-known verse, John 15:5 :

"I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me, and I in them, bear much fruit, because apart from me, you can do nothing."

OUR SYMBOL

We have adopted the symbol of a tree made from two hands. Jesus is the root and trunk of this tree, while we are the branches, who reach out to those in need.

OUR PRIORITIES

Much like our spiritual purpose, we look to the Scriptures to help us understand our priorities.

Below are three passages from the Letters of St. Paul, which guide us in discovering our priorities:

ROMANS 12:4-5

TO BUILD CHURCH

"For as in one body, we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually, we are members of one another."

COLOSSIANS 3:12-15

TO BE CARING

"Therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience."

ROMANS 1:8, 11-12

TO STAY CONNECTED

"I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed throughout the world...For I long to see you so...that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours, and mine.
